IMAN #79 — Divine Healing Is God’s Business

Incredible Men,

“Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases.” — Psalm 103:2-3

We’re spending this whole month of August on Pillar 6 of Incredible Man, Incredible Health — and last week we sat with that verse together. This week I want to tell you about a man who found out the hard way what it actually costs to walk in it.

He came to church with chronic back pain. Years of it. Medication, doctors, chiropractors — nobody could fix it. The elders laid hands on him, straight out of James 5, and prayed the prayer of faith. He was healed instantly.

About three weeks later, the pain came back.

Not because God’s healing wasn’t real. Because the source of the problem never got addressed. He was carrying forty extra pounds every single day — like strapping on a forty-pound sack of feed and never taking it off. Something was always going to give.

He needed the miracle. He also needed to steward his body, value himself enough to lose the weight, and walk in the divine health that miracle was pointing him toward. God wasn’t judging him for being overweight. The responsibility to steward his body was never lifted off him either.

Divine healing is God’s business. Divine health is our business.

You cannot enjoy the life Jesus died to give you if you are unhealthy. Period.

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” — John 10:10

You are going to pay. There’s no version of this where you don’t. The only real choice is when, and how.

Pay now — in the workouts you don’t want to do, the food you don’t want to give up. Or pay later — in hospital beds, in medication, in doctor visits that could have waited another decade.

Either way, you pay. Pay it now, in a good way, and get to actually enjoy the life you’re paying for. Or pay it later, in a bad way, and spend what’s left of it just trying to recover.

No one can do this for you. Not your wife. Not your doctor. Not me.

So let’s make it simple. If last week’s list felt like a lot, here’s the minimum version — four things, no excuses left after this one:

  1. Protein first. Prioritize animal sources — they carry more usable protein per bite than any plant source can match. Eat at least one gram of protein per pound of your ideal body weight.
  2. Nothing white, processed, or wrapped in plastic. Chips, bread, crackers — if it’s not real food, it’s not on the plate.
  3. Water with real salt. Nothing else. No soda. No juice. No sports drinks pretending to be healthy.
  4. 10,000 steps a day — especially on the days you don’t feel like it. Especially then.

If you need help, call me.

Four things. Start today.

One more thing: Incredible Provider & Protector free resource is now up on the website. And if you’ve missed any of these Tuesday emails along the way, all of them are archived there too — catch up anytime at IncredibleMan.org.

With you in the fight,

Pastor D

You’re receiving this email because you matter to God — and you matter to me. Whether we’ve met or not, I’m for you, I believe in you, and I’m praying that you step fully into who God created you to be. I consider you an Incredible Man — not because you’re perfect, but because you’re called. Called to live with conviction, lead with integrity, and stand firm when life gets hard. The word incredible comes from the Latin incredibilis, meaning “not believable.” It describes a man who lives differently — set apart, grounded, and unwavering.

I’m grateful you’re here.
