Incredible Men,
Before I get into today's word — happy belated Father's Day to every one of you raising kids, whether they're toddlers or grown, whether you see them every day or you're fighting for time with them. Sunday was your day. I hope someone made you feel seen. If no one did — I'm telling you now: what you do for your family matters more than you know. Well done, Dad.
Now let's close out this month on provision the right way.
When God created the world, He didn't make man first and scramble to figure out what he needed. He spent five days building an entire planet — food, water, beauty, purpose, resources — and then He made man.
Adam walked into a fully furnished world. He didn't earn it. He didn't hustle for it. He received it.
"I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food." — Genesis 1:29
Then God did something even more personal. He formed Adam from dust and breathed His own life into him.
"The Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being." — Genesis 2:7
A world, and then a breath. That's the Old Testament pattern: God doesn't just give you resources. He gives you life itself.
Jesus didn't break that pattern. He fulfilled it.
"This is my body, which is given for you... This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you." — Luke 22:19-20
Here's what that actually means for you as a man. Under the old covenant, you served God from a distance — sin kept you on the outside, performing, hoping you measured up. The body and blood of Jesus tore that distance down. You're no longer a servant trying to earn provision. You're a son who already has access to it.
"So you are no longer a slave, but God's child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir." — Galatians 4:7
That's not a small upgrade. That's the whole game changing. You stop striving for what you've already been given.
And just like God breathed life into Adam in the garden, Jesus breathed life into His disciples after the resurrection.
"And with that he breathed on them and said, 'Receive the Holy Spirit.'" — John 20:22
Same Father. Same posture. Same provision — a new covenant, the same God who has never once stopped giving you what you need before you knew you needed it.
"His divine power has given us everything we need for living a godly life." — 2 Peter 1:3
Everything. Not most things. Everything you need to flourish as a husband, a father, a provider — it's already yours in Christ.
You are not short on what you need. You are short on knowing what you already have.
So here's my question for you as we head into July: Are you living like a man who has been fully provided for — body, soul, and spirit? Or are you still striving like nobody ever set the table for you?
God set it for Adam. Christ set it for you. Now go set it for your family.
