Incredible Men,
God went looking for a man.
He searched. He looked for someone willing to stand — to build up the wall, to step into the gap, to hold the line on behalf of his family and his land.
He found no one.
“I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land — but I found no one.” — Ezekiel 22:30
I want you to sit with that for a second.
Not with guilt. With clarity.
Because that verse is still being written. And every week, God is still looking for men who will stand.
Most men think of protection in physical terms. They’ve got the home security system. They know how to handle themselves. They’re not afraid of a fight.
But that’s not the gap God is talking about.
The gap He’s looking for someone to fill is spiritual. Emotional. Invisible — but felt by everyone inside your home.
Here’s the hard question:
Does your family feel covered by you — not just financially, but spiritually and emotionally?
Not protected from discomfort. Not shielded from every hard thing life brings. But covered. Secure. Like there’s a man in the house who is steady, who prays, who guards what enters, who creates an atmosphere where it’s safe to be human.
That’s a different assignment than most of us signed up for.
Scripture is clear: provision and protection always walk together. The man who provides also stands guard.
Spiritual protection means you pray over your home. You guard what comes in through screens, through relationships, through influence. You are spiritually alert — not paranoid, but awake.
Emotional protection means you create a home where it is safe to feel, safe to fail, safe to grow. You are steady — not perfect, but predictable in love. Your family knows that when the pressure comes, you won’t collapse, you won’t explode, and you won’t disappear.
Physical protection is the simplest one — and it’s not about strength. It’s about presence. Be the kind of man that when your family is afraid, they feel safer simply because you’re in the room.
“Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.” — 1 Corinthians 16:13-14
Notice what that verse doesn’t say. It doesn’t say act like men and then let all you do be done in love — as if those are two different modes. Strength and love are not opposites. They are the definition of what a protector looks like.
A man who stands firm but leads without love is just control.
A man who loves but never stands firm is just comfort.
The incredible protector does both. He is the calmest presence in the storm. He is steady when everyone else is rattled. He absorbs pressure so his family doesn’t have to.
That’s not weakness. That is one of the most powerful things a man can do.
Your family doesn’t need a perfect man standing guard.
They need a present one.
This week’s assignment: Ask yourself honestly — where is the gap in your home right now? Not the financial one. The spiritual one. The emotional one. Where does your family need you to step in and stand? Name it. Then do one specific thing this week to cover that ground.
Pray over your home out loud. Put the phone down and be fully present at dinner. Ask your wife or your kids how they’re really doing — and actually listen. Guard what’s coming in through the screen in your living room.
Stand in the gap. That’s the call.

“As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. I will provide and protect — by the Spirit of God inside me, not by my own strength.”
Rise up, Incredible Man. Your family is waiting.
With you in the fight,
Pastor D
P.S. — God didn’t look for a perfect man to stand in the gap. He looked for a willing one. The fact that you’re reading this on a Tuesday morning tells me something about you. You are willing. Now act like it. Your family needs you standing — not someday, but now.
You’re receiving this email because you matter to God — and you matter to me. Whether we’ve met or not, I’m for you, I believe in you, and I’m praying that you step fully into who God created you to be. I consider you an Incredible Man — not because you’re perfect, but because you’re called. Called to live with conviction, lead with integrity, and stand firm when life gets hard. The word incredible comes from the Latin incredibilis, meaning “not believable.” It describes a man who lives differently — set apart, grounded, and unwavering.
I’m grateful you’re here.
